The Collection
The Earl W. Atlakson and Eugene E. Pitts Collections are housed in the Kansas Room. These collections provide an extensive photographic history of Atchison in the first half of the twentieth century and contains prints from Lotus Engraving, negatives from other photographic collections, and a collection of U.S President memorabilia.
We also have local newspapers dating from the 1800s available on microfilm. We house an extensive collection of local funeral records, genealogy books, home surveys, and more. The Atchison Public Library also has the library edition of Ancestry.com--this is available on all the public use computers, and your own devices while within the library itself. Click the button at the top of the page to see open hours, make requests, and more. |
