These steps will help you prepare for conducting research in our library so you can make the most of our resources.
The Kansas Room is staffed on a limited basis, and making an appointment ahead of time is greatly appreciated. Please contact us at 913-367-1902 x209, firstname.lastname@example.org, or make an indication on the research request below to schedule a time. During the month of April 2018, volunteers will be available on Tuesday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Kansas Room to assist researchers.
The Earl W. Atlakson and Eugene E. Pitts Collection is housed in the Kansas Room. This collection is an extensive photographic history of Atchison in the first half of the twentieth century and contains prints from Lotus Engraving, negatives from other photographic collections, and a collection of U.S President memorabilia.
The Atchison Library also has the library edition of Ancestry.com--this is available on all the public use computers. Just log in with your Atchison Library card, or request a guest pass from the circulation desk.
